SELBY CC BEER FESTIVAL
Selby Cricket Club is hosting its own beer festival to raise funds to support junior development at the Sandhill Lane club
It is being held on Friday, July 23, 5pm-11pm and on Saturday, July 24, 1pm-11pm. There is also food available on both nights and live entertainment by Katie Jay on the Saturday night.

MID-SEASON MEETING
League secretary John Parker has been directed by the Management Committee to convene a mid season meeting for all HPH York Vale League club representatives at which it is intended to discuss the following matters.
1 - The prospect of admitting new clubs to the League which will take our team numbers above the current 50.
2 - The success, or otherwise of the standard League ball, whether to continue with the current ball or consider a change for 2011
3 - The difficulties arising this season due to a number of clubs being unwilling to play games on Sundays.
4 - Rule changes which might be necessary in the light of experiences encountered during the season.
It is hoped that by having such a meeting a consensus may be reached in key areas which will reduce the time required to resolve them at the AGM.
The meeting has been arranged to take place at Fulfordgate Working Men’s Club on Tuesday, July 20 starting at 7.30pm.
If any clubs have further matters they would like to discuss at the meeting please let league secretary John Parker know so that he can amend the agenda.
The management committee look forward to seeing all clubs represented at the meeting.

CUP SEMI-FINAL DRAWS
CARLTON TOWERS RESIGN
The division five side have only been able to fulfil one of their fixtures this season after losing several players on the eve of the campaign. The club’s letter of resignation was accepted by the league’s management committee at a meeting at Fulfordgate WMC this week. Carlton
’s record will be expunged and the division five table recalculated. It will mean that there will be a vacancy for 2011 and the league has already received an application to join next year from Yapham’s East Riding Independent League side. The club is celebrating its centenary this year and Vale League officials will inspect the
Yapham’s first team play in the York and District Senior League side. There has also been interest from other clubs in joining the Vale League, but Yapham is, to date, the only one to formally apply. The venues for the league’s cup finals have been finalised. They are: HPH Cup – Heworth, August 1; Scothern Construction Cup – Woodhouse Grange, August 8, Guy Mitchell Cup – Hemingbrough, August 15; Premier Sports Cup - Selby, August 15; Prendergast Memorial Cup – Malton & Old Malton, August 22 and Hedley Memorial Cup – North Cave, August 29. 10 June 2010
